What makes it different

SoulGen is built around character stills first — realistic and anime, with face reference, brush edits, and outpainting — then adds short talking video and a light chat mode, rather than making chat the product.

What Makes It Different

SoulGen is an NSFW AI character generator that starts with stills — realistic and anime — and keeps the edit tools on the same canvas: face reference, brush edits, and outpainting. Short talking video with motion, sound, and lip-sync sits on top of that, plus a light SoulChat mode. Chat is an add-on, not the reason to use it.

Overview

SoulGen turns a text prompt, or a reference photo, into adult character images, then lets you fix a region or extend the frame instead of re-rolling the whole picture. The current site leads with AI video: upload a still or describe a clip, and it generates HD video (720p and 1080p) with motion, sound, and talking characters.

Image work is still the core. Generate a character, then use the editor to add, remove, or replace part of the image with a text prompt. Outpainting extends the canvas — background, extra figures, more of the scene — without starting over. A lookalike flow takes a reference photo and draws a character with a similar face, which is how you keep one person consistent across shots.

SoulChat is the companion layer: text and voice calls against a character you set up. 2026 reviews treat it as secondary to the image tools. Conversation depth and memory are weaker than chat-first apps; the voice calls are the part people single out.

It runs as a web app. The older iOS and Android apps are no longer listed in the official stores.

Features

  • Text-to-image character generation in realistic and anime styles
  • Lookalike portraits from an uploaded reference photo
  • Image editing by prompt: add, remove, or replace a selected region
  • Outpainting to extend a scene past the original frame
  • AI video from an image or a text prompt, with motion, sound, and lip-sync
  • HD output at 720p and 1080p
  • SoulChat text and voice on the same account, billed in credits
  • Commercial use of generated video when the result stays legal and does not use someone else's likeness or rights

Use Cases

  • Character artists who want a recurring realistic or anime face, then fix one detail instead of regenerating
  • People making short clips who already have a still and want talking video with lip-sync
  • Anime-focused users, where illustrated characters are the stronger match
  • Light companion use, when chat is a side feature and image quality matters more

Getting Started

Create an account, then start from a prompt or a reference image. For stills, generate, select a region to edit, or resize the canvas for outpainting. For video, upload a reference, describe the clip, and generate. Video spends credits much faster than a still.

Pricing

SoulGen is freemium on paper and credit-metered in practice. Pro is $12.99/month for 100 credits. The annual plan is $90.99 ($7.58/month) for the same 100 credits each month. Reviewers in 2026 put a basic still at about 1–2 credits, a heavier edit around 3, and a few seconds of video in the tens of credits depending on model and length — one longer HD clip can use most of a month. The free allowance is thin: about one credit a day, often watermarked or blurred, and some new accounts see no usable free generations until they pay. Extra credit packs, where offered, sit behind a paid plan. Refunds are narrow: a short window, and using credits usually ends eligibility. Check the checkout screen for whether the month renews before you pay.
